1. VIEWS OR SUGGESTIONS FOR GUIDELINES & PROVISIONS FOR PUBLIC INFORMATION (4TH EDITION)

The Committee under the Malaysian Dental Council (MPM) has developed Guidelines & Provisions for Public Information (4th edition). The guidelines will be one of the guidelines under the Dental Act 2018 when the Act comes into force.

In this regard, we would like to get views from YBhg. Datuk / Dato ’/ Datin / Prof./ Dr. in relation to these guidelines. Any views or suggestions can be forwarded to secretarymdc@moh.gov.my the latest by 1 November 2020.

2. PRE-REGISTRATION OF DENTAL SPECIALIST

The Malaysian Dental Council (MDC) is currently in the process of preparing towards the implementation of the Dental Act 2018. As an initial step, the pre-registration of dental specialist under section 34 of this Act is now open.

Please be informed that the specialties that has been approved are as follows:

i. Dental Public Health

ii. Endodontics

iii. Forensic Odontology

iv. Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology

v. Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

vi. Oral Pathology and Oral Medicine

vii. Orthodontics

viii. Paediatric Dentistry

ix. Periodontology

x. Prosthodontics

xi. Restorative Dentistry

xii. Special Care Dentistry

Any dental practitioner with these specialties may submit the pre-registration form and related documents for evaluation to the MDC.

3. ADVISORY ON COVID-19

Dear Dental Practitioners,

1. In view of the COVID-19 outbreak, the Oral Health Programme, Ministry of Health has issued guidelines as a reference to all dental staff in controlling the spread of COVID-19 outbreak in the facility and in the delivery of dental services. 3. Private dental clinic or private ambulatory care centre planning to change their operating hours, inform Bahagian Amalan Perubatan, Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia. Click here to view their announcement.

Please check MDC recognised list; Schedule 2 of the Dental Act if you wish to further your study in dentistry.

 

3. REGISTRATION OF DENTAL PRACTITIONER

Kindly contact the Malaysian Dental Council (MDC) to arrange for an appointment prior to registration.

 

4. CHECKING REGISTRATION DETAILS IN DPIMS

i) Practitioners are encouraged to check their registration details in DPIMS.
